‘The first thing I want you to do is pray.
Pray every way you know how, for everyone you know.
Pray especially for rulers and their governments
to rule well so we can be quietly about our business of living simply, in humble contemplation.
This is the way our Savior God wants us to live.’
(1 Timothy 2:0-3 MSG)
As we seek God’s face for the USA Presidential election 2012, please join me in prayer for our nation.
A prayer for our nation; a prayer to our Lord and Saviour
I kneel in the presence of Your shadow, and as Your mighty wings cover me, I give total reverence to You,
my Saviour. I worship You as the King above all kings, putting You first in my life now and always.
Lord, I praise You in thankfulness for the guidance, prosperity, and blessings You have long bestowed
upon our nation.
I thank You for the blessing of living in a nation where we are able to worship You freely and without fear.
I thank You for all the many rights and freedoms you have granted us; I know we sometimes take for them
granted, but yet they remain in place reminding us of all the brave men and women who have fought so hard
to give them to us.
Lord, I lift my eyes to You, looking for Your guidance and help. You are all-knowing and all-seeing. You know
our past, our present, and You see our future.
So today, as we come together to cast our votes, I pray for Your Spirit to open our eyes and convict our hearts.
I ask that You bring us to our knees in prayer for our country and the leader we about to choose.
Most of all, I pray that at the end of the day, no matter who we end up selecting, that we would continue to pray;
pray for our nation and our president, pray for his family, and the many duties and decisions he will have to make
over the next four years.
I thank You for this ability to vote.
In Your name,
